KIM + GRANT - WEDDING

Bride & Groom:  Kim James & Grant Grisham
Date:  10.10.10
Venue:  Royale Orleans

When I first met with Kim back in February, one thing was crystal clear...this girl was INNNNN LOVE!  With googly eyes, she referred to Grant as her prince charming and I felt like she couldn't take another minute of not being Mrs. Grisham.  For a photographer, this is what I like to call yummy.  It's kind of like knowing ahead of time that 8 months later you are going to be indulging in a giant slice of warm homemade apple pie with caramel and ice cream on top...yum right?!

After the ceremony, we hopped in my car and headed down the road to Jefferson Barracks Park and got some of their first pictures as Mr. & Mrs.  I had heard that the fall colors were supposed to be slightly muted this year due to the weather, but let me tell you...it was still amazing!  The only thing missing was a deer, sorry Grant :)

Here is a sneak peek at some of my favorite shots of their special day, ENJOY!!

The boys were goofing around outside before the ceremony and I have to say, it took them zero time to warm up to the camera...they were making my job all kiiiiinds of easy!

While she was getting ready, Kim had me convinced she was completely calm and collected....until these final moments before saying I DO that is ;)

One thing I learned about Grant throughout the day is that he has like 100 different facial expressions.  I love this one he flashed when his mom was pinning on his boutonniere....like "IT'S ABOUT THAT TIME"!

It's OFFICIAL...I present to you Mr. & Mrs. Grisham!!

Oh how I lovvved it when Grant started singing to his bride during their first dance...these are the moments that make my head unconsciously tilt to the left as the smile glides across my face.  You know, that smile that you can feel from your toes to your nose...ahhhhhhh!

When I saw Kenneth busting out his dance moves I thought WOW this kid can dance! Then his mom, the beautiful bride, joined him and I quickly learned where he inherited his skills...awesome.

Kim & Grant, thank you so much for making me feel like part of the family for the day and for being so easy and fun to work with.  This is only the beginning of the fairytale....may you live happily ever after!

WHEATLEY FAMILY

Meet the Wheatley Family....Jason, Aimee, Jessica & Braden!  Mom Aimee was referred to me by Stephanie, who I did a session with over the summer, and Stephanie was referred to me by Paul, who I trained with last year and also did a session for over the summer....did I mention I love referrals??  I love all referrals because that means I made people happy and that's the biggest reason I do what I do, but I ESPECIALLY love when they come from really cool people because....let's face it, they usually have really cool friends too!  Lucky for me, I have had nothing but super awesome clients so far....thanks to you all!

DISCLAIMER:  I write like I think so sometimes I'm all over the place if you haven't noticed yet...I'm a phototographer who does not claim to be a writer...but hey I try :)

Okay so back to the Wheatley fam!  Right when this family stepped out of the car, I immediately noticed the way they were all dressed and thought....this is going to be fun!  (and hey it doesn't hurt that they are all great looking)  The boots that Jessica and Braden rocked were the first thing I noticed, these kids are stylin' and know how to work it!  I had so much fun with them at the park, we explored the old mansion for a while and I started to feel like a kid again...curious what was around every corner and oh the VIEW!  It was breathtaking.  I decided that day that this is my new favorite park, good thing since I'll be back soon ;)

Jessica is one of the best little models, she struck so many poses throughout the session that I could barely keep up...but when I did it was so worth it as you will see!  She is such a free spirit and I love that about her.

Then we have Mr. Braden!  You would never know it from looking at the photos, but of course days before the session he took a spill (like all little boys do) and had a big old boo boo on his forehead.  Lucky for him, I don't like boo boos and decided to make it go bye bye :)  He is a doll!

Mom decided after a while the kiddos needed some new scenery...the playground.  The best thing about swings is that they generally make all kids happy...and that was definitely the case here...Braden was loving it!

Wheatley family, you were a pleasure to spend my Saturday morning with and I will revert back to my inner child and explore that mansion with you again anyday...Thank you!

BUCKLEY TWINS

Who better to start off my weekend than the Buckley Twins....Avery & Abby!!  Not only did they lead off my trifecta of photog gigs this weekend, but they were also my very FIRST set of twins....so I was pumped!  I've known mom Jessica since....well forever...and she and Ryan are awesome so of course that awesomeness flowed right over into their little cutie pies!  Avery is the more independent and outgoing one and Abby is the more shy and sweet mama's girl...so between the two of them they have all the bases covered :)

We decided to try out a local farm and pumpkin patch for our session so we could get into the fall and Halloween spirit...and so glad we did.  The weather was beautiful and with practically no one else there we ruled the roost...LOVE IT!  It was really hard to choose my favorites, but I did my best....enjoy!

First up is Miss Avery....she let me pick her up and we explored some little nooks of the patch.  She is standing up on her own so she especially liked the big pumpkins since they are perfect 'leaning' size!

Next up we have Miss Abby!  She decided instead of leaning on the pumpkin she would try to take a bite ;)  Once she warmed up, she loved crawling around in the grass and exploring too!

Can you imagine waking up to BOTH of these smiles every morning?  Every time I look at this shot I can't help but crack a giant cheesball grin!

Thanks Jess & Ryan for asking me to capture your adorable little family...the girls are SO cute and I really felt like I got to see their little personalities shine through!!  They totally know how to rock the poses already...my kinda girls ;)
